The air conditioner hummed as Katrin sat on the edge of the large, leather chair, her stomach churning uncomfortably. She'd been feeling increasingly ill throughout the day, and now, as the evening wore on, it felt as though there was a raging inferno in her gut.
Her temples throbbed with each pulse of her heartbeat, and she reached up to massage them gently. She knew what was coming; she'd seen it before in herself. A vivid memory flashed through her mind of a similar situation just a few weeks ago when she'd been on vacation with her friends. They'd been out drinking and eating too much rich food when she'd suddenly felt the familiar sensation of diarrhea building up inside her.
"I think I'm going to be sick," she'd mumbled to her friend, batting away the hand that had reached out to support her. She'd made it into the bathroom just in time, barely managing to get her pants around her ankles before the first explosive spasm hit her. Her friend had heard her retching and moaning through the door, and when she'd finally emerged, her face was ashen and her hair was wild.
Now, as the same sensation threatened to overwhelm her again, Katrin tried desperately to will it away. But it was no use; her body was on its own course, and she knew there was nothing she could do to stop it. She felt the first hot, jolting pain as riun in her stomach rose up, and she let out a quiet groan.
Slowly, she lowered herself back into the chair, her gaze fixed on the ceiling. She closed her eyes as the pain intensified, feeling her skin prickle with sweat. She sat there for what felt like hours, swaying gently from side to side as the urge to move her bowels became too great to bear.
Finally, she couldn't hold it in anymore. With a loud shriek, she leaned forward and placed both hands on the cool, hardwood floor beneath her. The pain coursed through her body like electricity as her bowels spasmed violently, and with each passing moment, the sensation seemed to only intensify.
Her face turned bright red as she strained against her own body, feeling like she might split apart at the seams. Slowly, the pain began to subside, and she slumped back into the chair, exhausted. Her body trembled as she caught her breath, and she felt a hot tear slide down her cheek. She looked around guiltily, hoping no one had heard her mortifying display of weakness.
Katrin wiped away the tear and took a deep, shaky breath. She knew there was still a way to go before everything was out of her system. But for now, she just had to focus on getting through this moment.
